
John J. Looney Sr. is a Helena-based entrepreneur, community leader, and public servant running for Montana House District 81.
Montana Roots: John grew up in Babb on the Highline of Montana, where he developed a deep appreciation for the rugged beauty and independent spirit that defines our state.
Community Leadership: John serves on the Lewis and Clark County Citizens Advisory Council and is actively engaged in local civic affairs. He is a successful business owner who believes in ethical standards, community investment, and supporting Montana's local economy.
Family: John and his wife Farrah are raising six children (ages 8–26) in Helena and are proud grandparents. The Looneys homeschool their children and are passionate advocates for parental choice in education.
Public Service: John's commitment to community began with his enlistment in the U.S. Army in 1993, where he served in the 3rd Ranger Battalion and later as a Long-Range Surveillance Team Leader in Europe. After his military service, he continued serving Montanans for seven years with the Lewis and Clark County Sheriff's Office and as a clerk for the Lewis and Clark County Justice Court.

John is deeply committed to making Helena and Lewis and Clark County a better place to live and raise a family.
He currently serves on the Lewis and Clark County Citizens Advisory Council, working alongside community members to address local issues and advise county leadership.
As a longtime Helena resident and business owner, John understands the challenges facing Montana families—from rising property taxes to housing affordability to education choices. He's running for House District 81 to bring that real-world experience to the Montana Legislature.
